Winter afternoon in Łódż

It was one wintery afternoon one year ago. Recently I am in Łódż quite often but I am not taking photos evertime. That time it was an unusual trip. I bought tickets and I travelled by train. I just left the station and was wandering without sense. I wanted to explore one district. As I have mentioned earlier in another post I live in a smaller town after leaving Warsaw in 2022. The matter is I do not want to live here and I wanted to check out Łódż and in particular one district called Retkinia. So it was not completely without sense. The images are from Retkinia and Piotrkowska Street. (Piotrkowska is the longest street in Europe).

The teddy is very famous in Poland. His name is Uszatek ( Hard to translate it but the point is his ear is flat). Uszatek was born in Łódż and I want to add another post about him. This time he is on the display in the bookstore at Piotrkowska.

So I was snapping images and it was very nice atmosphere there... And I realized my return train departs from the station in a 40 minutes and I do not know where the station is. It was not the same station where I arrived ( There is plenty of Railway Stations in Łódż). I decided to go there by tram. I know it was better to get taxi but I wanted to feel this town. I started to ask strangers for help and I must admit they were very helpful, nice and smart people. 

So I found the way to Łódż Chojny Railway Station and I think this is friendly town with kindhearted, metropolitan people. I would live there. This is one hour to Warsaw by train. I have also two other towns where I want to move. Łódż for sure is worthy and it was a very nice trip.
